Material Files is the file manager that ships from the AOSP source tree. It is small, ad-free, handles archives and SMB natively, and is maintained by an Android platform engineer.
What it does
- Browse internal storage, SD cards, OTG and MTP devices
- Built-in archive support for zip, tar, 7z and rar, plus image and video previews
- SMB/CIFS network shares and SFTP
- Root and archive browsing, dual-pane split view, clipboard and batch actions
